November Wrap Up

Hello Again!

It's already the end of the month again and I don't know about you guys but November went very fast for me. I wanted to do something different this month than I did in my monthly wrap up last month. I wanted to start logging how many books I read during each month and set a goal for myself the next month. That being said, I read a whopping 9 books this month which was beyond my expectations. Read on to see what I read!

1. Fire by Kristin Cashore

I started off my month by re-reading this book for the 100th time. The 2nd book in the Graceling series, this is my favorite of the 3 book series. My favorite thing about the series is that you can read any of the books by themselves because although they use some of the same characters you don't need to have information from the other book in order to read one of the other books. Kristin Cashore writes with a different perspective than most other fantasy writers (not using the same old tropes that other writers use) and that's probably why I always come back to her books over the years.

2. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

I wanted to start this series for several reasons one being that Sarah J. Maas is my favorite author of all time. After my blog buddy, Ashley, told me that this series was one of her favorite she had ever read I knew I had to give it a try. Although this wasn't my favorite book of the three in the series, I really enjoyed this book.

3. A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas

The sequel to A Court of Thorns and Roses, this was my favorite book of the series so far. I don't want to give anything away but Sarah did not disappoint with this novel and the story got bigger as did the world in which the story was set which made it even more enjoyable.

4. A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas

The third book of the Court of Thorns and Roses series was a great sequel to A Court of Mist and Fury although I thought it got a bit dry in some places. The announcement of the title of the next book in the series came out while I was reading this book and I can't wait until it's released next May.

5. Working It by Kendall Ryan

I switched from fantasy novels to re-reading some romance novels halfway through the month. Kendall Ryan is one of my favorite romance writers because she doesn't overly sexualize the novel and has good character development. This book is about a girl who is a personal assistant at a fashion company who has a romance with a male model and it gets complicated. It's an interesting story because most of the story takes place in Paris.

6. Craving Him by Kendall Ryan

In the sequel to Working It, the story picks up from where it left off in Working It. I can't say much without giving anything away but I will say that I didn't enjoy this book as much as I enjoyed the first book. Don't get me wrong, it was still an enjoyable read but it didn't have the same spark as the first novel.

7. Wanted by Maya Banks

Another romance novel, I have also read this novel many times before but I like the story so I decided to re-read this again over the Thanksgiving holiday. I enjoy this novel because of it's unique story style, instead of the characters meeting at the beginning of the novel, the characters already know each other and are finding each other again. I don't want to give too much away but this is a must read if you enjoy romance and drama. Plus it's part of a 4 book series that uses the same characters throughout the series and tells their stories in each book.

Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton

I picked up this novel a couple of months ago because the cover had drawn me in. This book is about a girl who is very good at shooting a gun who runs away from home and meets a rebel named Jin. I didn't personally enjoy this book, I thought the writing was muddled and the plot was confusing but it has good reviews on Barnes and Noble and it has 2 sequels.

The Glass Spare by Lauren DeStefano

I got this book in my first OwlCrate. I consider myself to be a picky reader so I was hesitant to receive a mystery book and even more hesitant to read a book which I hadn't done any prior research on. I was surprised to say I really enjoyed this book. It had a steampunk vibe and was a unique take on the fantasy genre. I hope to do a review on it sometime next month.

I had set a tentative goal of 2,000 pages for myself this month and I way overshot that. Next month, I would like to read 2,500 pages. With the holidays coming (and my birthday) it will be a busy time but I should have the time to read that many pages and it should be a good lineup. I plan to re-read the Throne of Glass series since I haven't read the whole series in several years and I plan to read a couple of books I bought on Black Friday. I hope you guys enjoyed all my posts this month. Next month I will be increasing the frequency of my posts and including different kinds of posts as well. If you have any suggestions, please message me comment!

See you guys next month!
