Hello Again!
I can't believe it's already the end of the year. I don't know about you but 2017 has gone very fast! Last month I set a tentative page goal of 2,500 pages for myself. I definitely exceeded that this month even with all the crazy things I had going on this month which included opening my own Etsy business. Without further ado, here are the books I read this month.

1. Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
I started out the month by re- reading my favorite book series of all time. Throne of Glass is the first book in the series and starts out with Celaena Sardothien, an infamous assassin, being selected to represent the Crown Prince of Adarlan in a competition to become the King's Champion. But something evil dwells in the castle of glass—and it's there to kill. When her competitors start dying one by one, Celaena's fight for freedom becomes a fight for survival, and a desperate quest to root out the evil before it destroys her world. I love this book because it helps kick off the series and establish the characters.

2. Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas
The second book in the Throne of Glass series, this picks up after the events of Throne of Glass and continues Celaena's story. This book is even better than the first book and has a massive cliffhanger at the end of the novel which blew my mind when I read it the first time. I enjoyed this novel because this is the last novel before the world expands so it's like a transition novel.
Total Pages: 448

3. Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas
The third book in the Throne of Glass series and by far my favorite, this book takes the world known in the first two books and expands it immensely. One of the things I really enjoy about this book is that the author takes turns in different chapters with different character perspectives. Each chapter is a different story line and it allows you to follow many different plots.
Total Pages: 592

4. Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas
The fourth book in the Throne of Glass series, this novel was just as good as I remembered. The individual story plots that you follow in Heir of Fire converge in this novel and make for an even more interesting story. This is the last book I had originally read in the Throne of Glass series so I was pretty motivated to get through this book pretty fast and get to the fifth book.
Total Pages: 672

5. Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas
The fifth book in the Throne of Glass series, this was the only book out of the series that I had not read before. This book took me the longest to read out of any this month and that wasn't just because of how long it was. As much as I love this series, after reading five book, I was pretty burnt out on this series about halfway through the month and for that reason I didn't read the next book in the series, Tower of Dawn. I'm going to give Tower of Dawn another try as it gets closer to September when the final Throne of Glass novel comes out. I really enjoyed Empire of Storms and there was another huge bombshell at the end of this novel which nearly killed me and I can't hardly wait for the last book in the series to see what happens next.

6. Before She Ignites
This book was in the September OwlCrate and I picked it up in November because I was intrigued by it's premise. Mira has always been a symbol of hope for the Fallen Isles, perfect and beautiful, or at least that’s how she’s forced to appear. But when she uncovers a dangerous secret, Mira is betrayed by those closest to her and sentenced to the deadliest prison in the Fallen Isles. I was pretty let down by this book, especially since I had seen positive reviews from alot of people. I reviewed this book in December (the link to my review is below).

7. Three Dark Crowns
I picked up Three Dark Crowns next because I've been hankering to read it because of how much people seem to love it. It wasn't as fast paced as I was expecting it to be but I really enjoyed it. In this novel, there are three sisters who are all queens and each possess are different kind of magic. They have been raised separately since they were young and on their 16th birthday they must fight to the death to see which sister will rise as the true queen. I enjoyed how each chapter was from a different sister's perspective and we could see what was going on in each part of the story. I think you are supposed to relate to one sister more so over the others but I honestly like all three sisters. I'm looking forward to starting the next book once I get my hands on it.

8. Remembering Majyk

The last book of the month was a new type of book for me. Remembering Majyk was my first ARC (advanced reader copy). I received this book in advance of its release date in exchange for my honest review, which will be posted on my blog on Thursday. I was drawn to this book because of its unique premise. Calista is attending a college party where she is attacked by terrifying creatures who seem to know who she is. Fleeing for her life, she discovers that her human memories are a lie and nothing is what it seems. Calista must try and remember all she can about her life before she came to the human realm and Brendan, a boy who she is drawn to, is going to help her. Together they must fight to protect the most important part of their inheritance, the Relic of Knowledge. If both worlds are to survive, Calista and Brendan must face the darkness around them—and the darkness threatening from within. I really enjoyed this novel and can't wait to enjoy the other 3 ARCs I have received. Publication date for Remembering Majyk is January 18th.

I had set a tentative goal of 2,500 pages for myself this month and I once again overshot that. As it is January, I just set my 2018 Reading Challenge in GoodReads for 150 books (this is about 12.5 books per month). This is a really ambitious and I will have to work pretty hard to hit my goal every month. I'm going to set my goal for next month at 3,500 pages although I should hit above that if I hit my monthly reading goal. I hope you guys enjoyed all my posts this month and had a lovely Christmas and New Year. I can't wait to see what this year has in store!
