Harry Potter Spell Book Tag

Hello Again! It's that time of the month again! Time for another book tag! Lately I've been in a Harry Potter mood (I watched all the movies last week) so I thought I would do the Harry Potter Spell Book Tag. Without further ado, see below! Enjoy!

Writing Charm (Flagrate): A Book That You Found Interesting but Would Like to Rewrite

Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder

I stumbled upon this book on Barnes and Noble's website and really enjoyed it both the first and second times I read it. There is something about this novel, however, that just needs some tweaking and I would love to do a little editing.

Unlocking Charm (Alohomora): A First Book in a Series That Got You Hooked

The Merchant's Daughter, The Captive Maiden, Etc. by Melanie Dickerson

Melanie Dickerson is an author I came upon in high school and fell in love with. She has several books in a series of sorts that are inspired by fairy tales and after reading The Merchant's Daughter which was inspired by Beauty and the Beast I sought out her other books as well. She keeps writing more and I love them all!

Summoning Spell (Accio): A Book That You Wish You Could Have Right Now

A Court of Frost and Starlight or Throne of Glass 7 by Sarah J. Maas

If you don't know already, I am a huge Sarah J. Maas fan. Both A Court of Frost and Starlight (the 4th book in the ACOTAR series) and the Untitled last and 7th novel in the Throne of Glass series come out this year. I realllllly wish I could have both right now but alas, I must wait for May and September respectively.

Killing Curse (Avada Kedavra): A Killer Book

Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers

I wasn't sure if this was meant to be killer in regards to amazing or killer in regards to alot of people die but I decided to go with Grave Mercy which is about a female assassin, so there is killing that is done.

Confusion Charm (Confundo): A Book You Found Confusing

Before She Ignites by Jodi Meadows

I just recently read this book and from almost the very beginning of the book, I was confused about almost everything. Even when something was finally explained, something new was introduced and then the confusion began anew. I was not a big fan of this book.

Guarding Spell (Expecto Patronum): Your Spirit Animal Book/ A Childhood Book Connected to Good Memories

Alanna: Song of the Lioness by Tamora Pierce

I first picked up this book when I was about 12 years old (and my very worn copy can attest to this fact) and have been a huge Tamora Pierce fan ever since. Tamora Pierce has alot of very strong female characters in her books and this book really showed me how strong a woman can be, when I was young. This book has alot of good nostalgia for me.

Dark Curse (Sectumsempra): A Dark, Twisted Book

Willow by Julia Hoban

This was the closest I could think of to a dark, twisted book. This book is about a girl whose parents died in a car accident where she was driving the car and she has been very depressed ever since. It deals with some dark themes and was an emotional read.

Disarming Spell (Expelliarmus): A Book That Took You By Surprise

Pawn by Aimee Carter

I picked this book up a couple of years ago because I was a fan of this author's other series but was not sure if I would be interested in this book. I was very surprised and really enjoyed this book. I enjoyed it so much that I read the rest of the series and then about a year later, listened to them again on audio book and they were somehow even better then. Aimee Carter is an underrated author and I try to toot her horn when I can.

Reverse Spell (Prior Incanto) The Last Book You Read

Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo

I started the Grishaverse series at the beginning of the year and just finished the second book, Siege and Storm. I have really enjoyed this series so far and can't wait to finish Ruin and Rising.

Amplifying Charm (Sonorus): A Book You Think Everybody Should Know About

The Throne of Glass Series by Sarah J. Maas

I said it before and I'll say it again, I love Sarah J. Maas. I think there cannot be enough good things said about this series. I think everyone should read it. Enough said.

Memory Charm (Obliviate): A Book or Spoiler You Would Like to Forget Having Read

Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas

There are quite a few bombshell spoilers at the end of this novel that broke me emotionally for a good day and a half and I would most certainly like to forget about

them but alas I cannot. If you have read this book, you know what I'm talking about...

EOS-Cover

Controlling Curse (Imperio): A Book You Had to Read for School

Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte

I had to read this book in my senior year for British Lit and I absolutely loved it. This is the only school book that I didn't hate. The movies aren't half bad either!

Torture Curse (Crucio): A Book That was Painful to Read

Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton

This is a relatively revolutionary opinion because most everyone I have met who has read this book has loved it but this is honestly one of the worst books I have ever read. I struggled to finish this book. The character development, pacing, and general story line made no sense and were painful to read. I'm not quite sure what tea everyone has been drinking or if I read a different book somehow but I did not enjoy this book.

That's all folks! Hope you enjoyed this book tag and I now tag my fellow blog buddy, Ashley to do this book tag! Good luck!
