Broccoli and Beef Recipe
Hello There!
As Valentine's Day approaches I thought I would share a dinner recipe that I rather enjoy. This is a Pinterest recipe that I found and tested and changed to my liking. If you're in the mood for some Asian inspired food, give this recipe a try! Enjoy!
Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry
Ingredients
3 tablespoons cornstarch, divided
1⁄2 cup water
2 tablespoons water
1⁄2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 lb beef for stir fry (mine comes pre- cut like this or you can use flank steak)
2 tablespoons olive oil, divided (or sesame if you want to really go for an Asian flair)
4 cups broccoli florets
1 small onion, cut into wedges
1⁄3 cup reduced sodium soy sauce (or coconut aminos/ tamari depending on your dietary restrictions)
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon minced
hot cooked rice
Instructions
In a bowl, combine 2 tablespoons cornstarch, 2 tablespoons water and garlic powder until smooth. Add beef and toss until well coated.
In a large skillet over medium high heat, stir-fry beef in 1 tablespoon oil until beef reaches desired doneness; remove pan from burner to keep warm.
Stir-fry broccoli and onion in remaining oil for 4-5 minutes (or until broccoli greens up and onion becomes translucent).
Combine soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger and remaining cornstarch and water until smooth; add to the pan.
Cook and stir for 2 minutes until beef is covered and the liquid thickens and turns into a sauce.
Serve over rice with broccoli and onions.
