February ShelfLove Crate Unboxing

Hello Again!

Welcome to my second unboxing for the month of February. This was the first time I had ordered from ShelfLove Crate and I definitely wasn't disappointed. This box included 2 books and some really amazing items. I will definitely be ordering from them again! See what was in my box below! ENjoy!

Look at this amazing box! So many goodies!

The Goodies

First up in the crate was a Legendary Print as well as Legendary Hot Cocoa illustrated by @morgana0anagram. This art comes ahead of the release of Legendary, the sequel to Caraval. I haven't read Caraval yet but plan to next month! Legendary releases on May 29th!

Next was a bookmark featuring a quote from The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken. I love the design on this bookmark although it's a little long for me. I also haven't gotten around to this book yet but it's on my ever expanding TBR!

The next thing in my box was a Cinder Trading Card made by ShelfLove Crate and is the first in an exclusive series designed by @kat_adara. I'm hoping to start Cinder next month!

Next in the crate was a Princess Lia Candle by Belle & Co Candlemakers and wow does this smell amazing. The scent for this candle was sparkling wine, rosewood, and lavender. I can't even put into words how amazing this smells. It also has an awesome light blue color and some cool dark blue chunks, not to mention the gold glitter on top! Favorite item in this crate!

The last paper items were the monthly postcard and the bookmark featuring this month's design. These were lovely, truly unique designs.

Other Goodies

Also included in this box was an amazing pillowcase with a quote from The Grishaverse Trilogy. This pillowcase was made by @eviebookish who has some amazing designs. This pillowcase was designed exclusively for ShelfLove Crate and I can't wait to put it on a pillow!

The Books (Yes, I said books as in plural!)

Included in this month's box was not one book, but two. I received a copy of The Queen's Rising by Rebecca Ross with a signed bookplate and a copy of Markswoman by Rati Mehrotra. I have been looking forward to reading both of these books for a while and it was great to receive a copy. See the synopses of the books below!

The Queen's Rising by Rebecca Ross

When her seventeenth summer solstice arrives, Brienna desires only two things: to master her passion and to be chosen by a patron. Growing up in the southern Kingdom of Valenia at the renowned Magnalia House should have prepared her for such a life. While some are born with an innate talent for one of the five passions—art, music, dramatics, wit, and knowledge—Brienna struggled to find hers until she belatedly chose to study knowledge. However, despite all her preparations, Brienna’s greatest fear comes true—the solstice does not go according to plan and she is left without a patron. Months later, her life takes an unexpected turn when a disgraced lord offers her patronage. Suspicious of his intent, and with no other choices, she accepts. But there is much more to his story, and Brienna soon discovers that he has sought her out for his own vengeful gain. For there is a dangerous plot being planned to overthrow the king of Maevana—the archrival kingdom of Valenia—and restore the rightful queen, and her magic, to the northern throne. And others are involved—some closer to Brienna than she realizes. With war brewing between the two lands, Brienna must choose whose side she will remain loyal to—passion or blood. Because a queen is destined to rise and lead the battle to reclaim the crown. The ultimate decision Brienna must determine is: Who will be that queen?

Markswoman by Rati Mehrotra

Kyra is the youngest Markswoman in the Order of Kali, one of a handful of sisterhoods of highly trained elite warriors. Armed with blades whose metal is imbued with magic and guided by a strict code of conduct, the Orders are sworn to keep the peace and protect the people of Asiana. Kyra has pledged to do so—yet she secretly harbors a fierce desire to avenge her murdered family. When Tamsyn, the powerful and dangerous Mistress of Mental Arts, assumes control of the Order, Kyra is forced on the run. She is certain that Tamsyn committed murder in a twisted bid for power, but she has no proof. Kyra escapes through one of the strange Transport Hubs that are the remnants of Asiana’s long-lost past and finds herself in the unforgiving wilderness of a desert that is home to the Order of Khur, the only Order composed of men. Among them is Rustan, a disillusioned Marksman whose skill with a blade is unmatched. He understands the desperation of Kyra’s quest to prove Tamsyn’s guilt, and as the two grow closer, training daily on the windswept dunes of Khur, both begin to question their commitment to their Orders. But what they don’t yet realize is that the line between justice and vengeance is thin . . . as thin as the blade of a knife.

Hope you enjoyed the unboxing of this crate! With February almost over, it's just about time for the February Wrap Up! Be on the lookout for that in the next couple days. Thanks for reading!
