March FairyLoot Unboxing

Hello Again!

Hope everyone had a good week! Mine was pretty long after my Bachelorette Weekend and I am looking forward to Easter this coming weekend. I received my very first Fairyloot this week and just had to do an unboxing as it was also their anniversary box. Here it goes! Enjoy!

Theme: Memorable Moments

Goodies

  • Cork Bunting from Paladone This was a unique item and one I haven't seen in a box before. I'm not quite sure yet if i'm going to use this item but I might use it to display my pins and other small bookish items!

  • Beautiful Monthly Print done by artist @taratjah This is one of my favorite monthly crate prints I have seen in a while. The details are stunning and I love her style. Check her out on Instagram!

  • Exclusive Goblet of Fire Candle by Paper Flames Candle Co. I always appreciate getting candles in crates but they always seem to be a hit and a miss. This was was definitely a miss, the scent could have been amazing but ended up smelling bizarre and not appealing.

  • Toast to the Warden of the North Hot Cocoa made by Eponine While I always appreciate edible items I will always prefer tea over cocoa or coffee. Cocoa always tastes the same to me no matter the flavor so this was not an item that really excited me.

  • Exclusive Bilbo's Birthday Cake Vegan Soap made by Geeky Clean This item was really strange. It's supposed to be soap but is the most bizarre shade of pink (one that is most certainly not LOTR- esque) and really has no smell. I really disliked this item.

  • Bookmark of Monthly Print by artist @taratjah This is just a bookmark sized version of the print done by the Fariyloot artist. It's beautiful and portable!

Book of the Month

State of Sorrow by Melinda Salisbury

I had not heard of this book before I got it in the crate but just from reading the synopsis, I think this looks like a great read. I'm looking forward to diving into this world and can't wait to see what Sorrow does!

By day, Sorrow governs the Court of Tears, covering for her grief-maddened father, who has turned their once celebrated land into a living monument for the brother who died before she was born. By night, she seeks solace in the arms of the boy she's loved since childhood. But one ghost won't stop haunting her, and when enemies old and new close ranks against her, Sorrow must decide how far she's willing to go to win...

Crate Score

Overall, this crate was pretty disappointing not only as my first box but also as an anniversary crate. I have seen so many great Fairyloot unboxings and I was pretty underwhelmed. I only ended up keeping one of the goodies and only feel "meh" about it. I am looking forward to reading the book however, so that is a plus. I give this crate a 2.5 out of 5 stars for lack of creativity and general disappointment. Hopefully next month will be better!

So other than this underwhelming crate, this week has been pretty good. Hope yours has been as well as we finish up March. Have a great weekend and Easter everyone and be on the look out for the wrap up! In the meantime..... AGONY!!
