Hello Again!

Time for the unboxing of my last crate from May! Phew! I thought they would never end... This was one of my favorite crates this month because of its variety and number of goodies included. Read on to see what was in May's Fairyloot crate! Enjoy!

May Theme: Save the Kingdom

Goodies

  • The Winner's Trilogy Coaster by Evie Bookish This series is on my TBR but I haven't had the time to read it yet. Another beautiful item made by Evie Bookish!

  • Promotional Legendary Playing Card I literally just finished Caraval and plan to pick up Legendary soon, what a unique item to include! Every crate had a different design.

  • Lip Scrub inspired by The Remnant Chronicles made by Geeky Clean I just started the first book in this series so this is a great item! I'm not sure who Venda is yet, but I'm certain I will soon.

  • Throne of Glass inspired Page Flags made by Fictiontea Designs This is my absolute favorite item that I've received in a crate yet! Throne of Glass is my all time favorite series and these are such a cute item that I can actually use. I need to get my hands on more of them...

  • Norgard Bath Bomb created by Little Heart Gifts inspired by this month's book! Again, I don't have a bath tub so this is a great item I wish I could use. I love that it's inspired by this month's book.

  • Smoke in the Sun and Monthly Art Bookmarks

  • Save the Kingdom Tea from The Tea Leaf Co. Finally! A tea is included instead of coffee. I feel like I've received more coffee lately when I prefer tea. Can't wait to try out this caffeine- enhanced blend.

  • Exclusive An Ember in the Ashes Book Sleeve designed by Reverie and Ink I love the design of this item although I'm not a fan of this book. The way it was made also seems kind of sloppy, I won't be keeping this item.

Book of the Month

Onyx and Ivory by Mindee Arnett

This might be the book from this month that I'm most excited about. This book has a great concept and I hope it delivers. Plus, I love the sprayed edges on this edition! It was also great of them to include the art print and the sticker! Can't wait to read it this month.

They call her Traitor Kate. It’s a title Kate Brighton inherited from her father after he tried to assassinate the high king years ago. Now Kate lives as an outcast, clinging to the fringes of society as a member of the Relay, the imperial courier service. Only those most skilled in riding and bow hunting ride for the Relay; and only the fastest survive, for when dark falls, the nightdrakes—deadly flightless dragons—come out to hunt. Fortunately, Kate has a secret edge: she is a wilder, born with magic that allows her to influence the minds of animals. But it’s this magic that she needs to keep hidden, as being a wilder is forbidden, punishable by death or exile. And it’s this magic that leads her to a caravan massacred by nightdrakes in broad daylight—the only survivor her childhood friend, her first love, the boy she swore to forget, the boy who broke her heart. The high king’s second son, Corwin Tormane, never asked to lead. Even as he waits for the uror—the once-in-a-generation ritual to decide which of the king’s children will succeed him—he knows it’s always been his brother who will assume the throne. And that’s fine by him. He’d rather spend his days away from the palace, away from the sight of his father, broken with sickness from the attempt on his life. But the peacekeeping tour Corwin is on has given him too much time to reflect upon the night he saved his father’s life—the night he condemned the would-be killer to death and lost the girl he loved. Which is why he takes it on himself to investigate rumors of unrest in one of the remote city-states, only for his caravan to be attacked—and for him to be saved by Kate. With their paths once more entangled, Kate and Corwin have to put the past behind them. The threat of drakes who attack in the daylight is only the beginning of a darker menace stirring in the kingdom—one whose origins have dire implications for Kate’s father’s attack upon the king and will thrust them into the middle of a brewing civil war in the kingdom of Rime.

Crate Score

What a great crate! Some really unique items and a wide variety of fandoms included. The sprayed edges of this month's book were a great addition and I can't wait to start the book. Although there were a couple items I won't use, I still loved their design/ make. Another win for Fairyloot!

That's it for unboxings for the month of May, I promise! Hope you enjoyed them all. My BookCon wrap up is coming next so be on the lookout for that! Have a great Wednesday!
