June Wrap Up
Hey Guys!
Just like that, half of 2018 is over! This month flew by, from Book Con at the beginning to the 4th of July next week. I did alot of rereading this month but also read a few new books that I enjoyed. I did a staggering amount of reading this month and hope to continue on this reading binge in the next few months. I'm finally ahead of my Goodreads Challenge! Anyway, enjoy seeing what I read this month.
1. The DUFF by Kody Keplinger
I started my month by rereading this teen contemporary. I had watched the film version of this novel and was so disappointed I decided I needed to reread what is one of my favorite contemporaries. It was just as good as I remember. This novel covers tough subjects with grace and is written so well. I will definitely be giving more of her books a read soon.

2-4. Storm Glass/ Sea Glass/ Spy Glass by Maria V. Snyder
Continuing my read of the Poison Study Series, this trilogy is set in the middle of the 6 Poison Study books. I was a little irritated at first, learning that I needed to read these 3 books, but soon fell in love with even more of her characters. I love the way Maria writes and can't wait to finish the rest of the Poison Study series and after that, her other trilogy!

5. The Kiss of Deception by Mary E. Pearson
I've been meaning to give this book a read for quite a while and jumped on the opportunity this month. I had no idea what I was getting into with this book/ series but I was pleasantly surprised. Some of the book seemed to drag on but overall it had a compelling plot and a great main cast of characters. I will definitely be reading the other books in the series but I'm in no rush.

6. Good Girl by Jana Aston
This book was a Kindle deal I found in my email and bought for $1! I was in a romance novel mood this month and started my romance binge with this novel. Unfortunately, the quality of this novel was not great and the story was not nearly as compelling as the description promised. It suffered form poor characters development and pacing issues and its short page count definitely didn't help. I had higher expectations for this book but at least I got my romance fix with the next couple books!

7-8. Filthy Beautiful Lies/ Filthy Beautiful Love by Kendall Ryan
Continuing with my romance reads for the month, I decided to reread this duology. These books have a similar concept to Good Girl but are vastly better written. Kendall Ryan is one of my all- time favorite romance writers and this is my favorite series of hers. I also just found out there are 2 more books in this series I didn't know about! More reading for next month!

9. An Enchantment of Ravens
I decided to read this book on a whim and absolutely loved it. The cover art is stunning and has been begging me to read it for a while, but I had heard some of my friends didn't enjoy it. I decided to give it a go anyway because it was so short and didn't regret it. It reminded me of my favorite read of the year, The Cruel Prince, and I wish it had a sequel. A great quick read!

10-14. Crossfire Series (1-5) by Sylvia Day
I also decided to do a reread of this series on a whim. I fell in love with this series when it first came out and had read through the first 3 books, but never finished. This was a great chance to finish a series I love and refresh myself. This series does get a little stale by the time you're well through the 4th book but it still had a great ending. I will definitely be rereading this series in the future!

15. Legendary by Stephanie Garber
After reading Caraval last month and grabbing a signed copy of this book at BookCon earlier this month, I decided to give this book a read through. This book is from the POV of the sister of the original character and was vastly more interesting than her sister. This book moved faster than the first book but developed the plot far more than the first book. I really enjoyed the continuing development of the main characters and the introduction of new characters was compelling. I can't wait for the final book next year.

16. Brightly Woven by Alexandra Bracken
For my last book of the month, I decided to reread this charming fantasy novel. A standalone, this novel was Alexandra Bracken's first and has been a favorite of mine for years. It's written so you don't know its a standalone but leaves you with no expectations of another book at the end. This book is highly underrated and I wish more people knew about it!

That's it for June! I read quite a few more books than expected which was awesome. Hopefully I'll get to read close to as many next month, including some of my long neglected ARC's! Enjoy this sad GIF of how I feel about the World Cup right now... Lol
