Top Ten Tuesday | Favorite Novellas/ Novellas I'd Like to Read

Hello Again! Time for another Top Ten Tuesday and I'm quite excited for this one since I don't get around to reading alot of novellas. Enjoy my bucket list of novellas, including the few I have actually read.

1. Assassin's Blade by Sarah J. Maas

I have read the Throne of Glass series at least 7 times all the way through but to my shame, have never read this novella. (Face palm lol) I have always found a reason to skip it, saying I'm happy with the way the series is already. I will be reading it however next month for my series re-read before the release of Kingdom of Ash... I promise!

2. Night of Cake and Puppets by Laini Taylor

I had heard of this book before I read Daughter of Smoke and Bone but just thought it was some strangely named YA contemporary (it happens more often than you think). Now that I have read DOSAB and am starting the second novel, it's time to read this story.

3. Study Series Novellas by Maria V. Snyder

I have loved Maria V. Snyder's writing since I first read it years ago and have recently started a reread of her Study Series. At the time I first read most of this series, she didn't have any novellas, but now I'm excited to see some of what happens to our beloved characters between books. I just got the audiobook of these today and can't wait to get it a listen.

4. Shattered Glass by Maria V. Snyder

Just like her other series, her Glass Magician Series has its own novella. I personally think I liked this series even better than her Study Series, which is hard to believe since they're both right up there on my favorites. I didn't know this novella existed until today but you can bet I own it now and can't wait to read it!

5. A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J. Maas

Finally! The first on this list that I have actually read. I read this book shortly after it came out and thought it was alright, but definitely not my favorite of the series. Since this novel acts as a bridge between ACOWAR and her new series, there wasn't much that happened of interest in this novel and I didn't like the multiple POV's for the most part. But this was still well written by the queen herself so it gets a higher place on this list.

6. The Girl of Fire and Thorns Stories by Rae Carson

The Girl of Fire and Thorns Series was the first I had read of Rae Carson and I never got to finish the series sadly. I am determined to finish this series and when I'm done, I want to read this collection of three novellas that accompany it!

7. Happily Ever After by Kiera Cass

I just did a reread of The Selection Series and really enjoyed it. While I usually stop after the third book, I think I will continue reading this series, starting with the novellas. There are four in this collection and it will be interesting to read about the events of the first three books from different character perspectives.

8. A Beautiful Wedding by Jamie McGuire

Beautiful Disaster was the first romance novel I ever read and I related to it so much at the time because I was in college, as the characters were. This wonderfully written novel is still one of my favorites and inspired many sequels and spinoffs of characters from the original. This novellas was one of the first and most important in my opinion. I won't ruin the surprise by telling you why!

9. The Goddess Hunt/ Legacy by Aimee Carter

This is another series I read in high school, including both of these novellas. I love all of Aimee Carter's books, but especially this series as it blurs the line between mythology and teen drama. These novellas really add to the series and I only wish there were more of them!

10. Faery Tales and Nightmares by Melissa Marr

I have only ever read the first book in the Wicked Lovely Series but have always wanted to finish this series. This series has a cult following and I would love to read this collection of shirt stories after I'm through.
