Top Ten Tuesday | Bingeworthy TV Shows
Hey All! It's been a looooong weekend for me and it's back to work tomorrow! I have been binging TV shows for as long as it was possible to do so so I compiled 10 of my top favorites. Enjoy!
Friday Night Lights (5 Seasons)
Now I'm not one to enjoy sports of any kind but this show has an undeniable charm. The characters on this show really make it a memorable experience and your opinion of characters may change radically during the show. One of the things I really enjoy about this show is that the drama isn't ridiculous or unreasonable. It's hard to stop watching this show and even though I just finished a re-watch, I want to start again!
Bones (12 Seasons)
I'm currently halfway through my rewatch of this unique procedural. I've always been a fan of procedurals and this one made me want to be a forensic scientist when I was young. There's no other show quite like this one as far as the way the story unfolds and the unique cast. Give it a shot if you like science and justice!
Grey's Anatomy (16 Seasons)
This one goes without saying. This is probably one of the most popular TV shows of all time and I jumped on the train a few years back. I have rewatched this series at least 3 times since and love the drama and the medical cases. Although there have been countless cast changes, I still have a fondness for this show. It's worth a watch!
Portlandia (8 Seasons)
This is an odd show but great for anyone who enjoys funny and strange sketches. I was skeptical of this show at first but soon grew to love it. Carrie and Fred are the main characters in most sketches and play most of the characters which only makes it better. There's no way to really describe this show but it takes a satirical look at everyday life in a hilarious way. Definitely worth a watch!
House (8 Seasons)
I have loved this show since it started and I was way too young to watch and still enjoy rewatching it. This is probably my favorite medical drama because of the absurd nature of the cases and because of House himself. He is such a multi- faceted character and you see him go through so much development in the process of this show. I can still name my favorite episodes and remember almost all the other. A great show if you like strange diseases and medical dramas!
The Office (9 Seasons)
Here's another one that goes without saying. My blog is named after this show for goodness sake! I love everything about this show (including the subpar last 2 seasons). The comedy, the cast, the story; what's not to love! This is an absolute classic and definitely worth a watch! I mean just look at Jim's face...
Parks and Rec (7 Seasons)
I started this show because of the similarlity to The Office and fell in love with it because of how it's different from The Office. This show strikes a different theme than The Office does, a more lighthearted theme. The cast of this show overcomes absurd obstacles in their strange little town and grows as a group during the course of this show. This is a hilarious show and definitely worth a watch if you enjoy The Office!
Sherlock (4 Seasons)
This show is unique in its modern take on Sherlock and it's short seasons, only 3 episodes at 1 and a half hours each. The cast is absolutely wonderful and Benedict Cumberbatch gives a really stellar performance. Each episode is rife with cinematic drama and excellent sleuth work and endears the characters to us a little bit more. They haven't said that season 4 was the last, but I'm really hoping a 5th season gets made! Fingers crossed!
The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (4 Seasons)
This is a great short show if you're in need of something quick and funny to watch. Ellie Kemper of The Office gives a stellar performance alongside a stellar cast about a girl who lived in a bunker for 20 years and is reentering society. It's truly a brilliant comedy and the story never gets old!
Rick and Morty (3 Seasons)
I didn't want to watch this show for so long (although my husband pressed me) because I didn't think it was something I would enjoy. However, I was very very wrong. This show is profane and horrible but so unbeliveably funny. Rick and Morty and the rest of the Smith family go on many strange adventures and even have some more serious moments. This is one of my absolute favorite shows of late but don't watch this if you're easily offended!
